Job Description

VP, Head of Global Human Resources – (Remote) – Europe €130,000 – €160,000

Global Life Science Hub are partnered with a niche US based clinical-stage oncology biotech focused on the discovery of novel therapies for Solid Tumours. With 4 assets in phases II/III and an extensive pipeline of pre-clinical discovery makes this a truly exciting up and coming oncology player.

Following a successful phase II reading for their lead product, they’re now searching for a Global Head of Human Resources that will help to drive the HR strategy, Planning and implementation as a business partner.

Currently with little presence in Europe, the appointed individual will be solely responsible for excessive growth planned across Europe and continued growth with the US. On top of that, you will be responsible for the compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, organisational development, employee/labour relations, HRIS, talent training and management, and providing support to the senior members of the leadership team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build key capabilities and functionality through a mix of internal employees, contractors & virtual capabilities working with vendor partners in support of the continued development of our pipeline.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the mission and strategic vision. 
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues. 
  • Implement HR plans and strategies in Europe to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  • Implementation of talent strategy & performance management, including processes to provide feedback, accountability, and documentation for performance outcomes and employee development.
  • Guide management and employee actions in line with policies and guidelines; communicate and enforce organization values.
  • Manage talent acquisition and onboarding processes; partner with enterprise leaders to set talent requirements and acquisition strategy to meet overall talent requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of the strategic goals. 
  • Lead the organization’s ability to meet current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Ensure consistent and structured onboarding/training of new hires to support job readiness, compliance, and culture; partner with functions to feed eLearning platforms and programs to support competency development.
  • Act as a point person for organizational talent and the management of its human capital.
  • Provide overall Europe leadership by managing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits as well as diversity matters in Europe.  
  • Part of the HR Leadership team helping shape the employee strategy as the company continues to grow and launch new products.
  • Contribute to global HR initiatives and projects that benefit the entire company.
  • Participate in sharing of HR best practices and efficiencies that will benefit all employees.


  • University degree in a related field or with certification in HR Management
  • Experience working at a Global scale
  • 10+ years of HR experience; minimum 5 years’ experience in a biotech, pharma or CRO related field
  • Experience in a start-up and fast-growing environment strongly preferred.
  • Like to be hands-on and at ease in roll-up the sleeves type of environment
  • Experience managing a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Strong facilitation & influencing skills; ability to form relationships at all levels in the organization. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish immediate presence and credibility
  • Strong listening and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
