Head of European Human Resources – Remote, Europe

We are currently seeking a visionary European Head of Human Resources who will take the reins in shaping and leading the HR function across the captivating landscape of Europe.

In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind the development and execution of electrifying HR strategies and initiatives, propelling their overall business objectives to new heights. Your mission will be to magnetise, nurture, and retain top-tier talent while fostering an atmosphere of boundless positivity and inclusivity. As a true maestro of HR practices in a multinational arena, you will ignite a symphony of organisational effectiveness, weaving your influence through the tapestry of crucial decision-making processes.

HR Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organisation’s goals and support the European business units.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to senior management, influencing decision-making processes and driving organisational effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Work closely with hiring managers to define staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and final selection.
  • Collaborate with regional and global HR teams to implement consistent talent management practices, including onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Promote a positive work culture and employee engagement by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct investigations when necessary, and recommend appropriate actions.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of competitive compensation and benefits programs in accordance with industry standards and local regulations.
  • Ensure regular review of salary structures and benefit packages to attract and retain top talent.

Learning and Development:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training and development needs across the organisation.
  • Design and implement learning initiatives, including leadership development programs, professional skills training, and succession planning strategies.

Compliance and Legal:

  • Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations across European locations.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices and changes in employment legislation to mitigate legal risks and ensure HR policies and practices are in compliance.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Develop and analyse HR metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management to support data-driven decision-making.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role within a global organisation, preferably within the contract research organisation (CRO) industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of European labour laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that drive business objectives and support organisational growth.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with a diverse workforce.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving global environment.
