Medical Director, Medical Affairs – Switzerland
Global Life Science Hub is partnered with a fast-growing biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative therapies for rare and ultra-rare diseases. Their mission is to transform the lives of patients and families affected by these devastating conditions. With a strong pipeline of clinical-stage programs and a passionate team of professionals, they are poised to significantly impact rare disease drug development.
Due to continuous success, they are now seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Director, Medical Affairs, to join their team and drive the development and execution of medical affairs strategies for our rare disease portfolio.
Reporting to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the successful candidate will lead the medical affairs function for assigned programs, including scientific communications, medical education, and advisory board management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement medical affairs strategies for assigned programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of medical affairs and clinical development plans
- Lead the development of scientific communications, including publications, presentations, and posters
- Manage relationships with key opinion leaders and external partners
- Plan and execute advisory boards and other medical education activities
- Provide medical input to cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and commercial
- Stay current with developments in the field of rare disease drug development and share knowledge with internal stakeholders
- Represent the company at scientific conferences and other external events
Experience/Qualifications
- MD or equivalent medical degree required
- Board certification in a relevant specialty preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical affairs in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Experience in rare disease drug development strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of scientific communications, medical education, and advisory board management
- Proven track record of success in medical affairs and/or clinical development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
