General Manager – United States – Remote – $250,000 – $275,000

With over 3,000 employees globally and consistent growth, we seek a General Manager to manage a P&L of over $200m for their US division. The General Manager will be responsible for x8 sites/labs, with x7 in North America and x1 in Canada, overseeing a team of over x600 people. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior VP, and the GM must have experience working in the Clinical Market and possess a customer-centric mindset. The ideal candidate will be an operations leader comfortable working in a “matrix” environment.
Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the P&L of the x8 sites/labs, ensuring that all targets and goals are met
- Manage the overall operations of the business, including overseeing Operations, Centralised R&D, and offering technical support
- Utilize expertise in Gene Technology, specifically in Synthesis and Sequencing, to ensure the success of the company’s offerings
- Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and increase profitability
- Foster a culture of customer centricity, ensuring that all customers receive the highest level of service and support
- Lead and manage a team of over x600 people, including hiring, training, and development
- Work collaboratively with other departments and sites in a matrix environment, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and working towards a common goal
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building the company’s profile and reputation in the industry
- Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the industry
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role
- A strong track record of managing a P&L of over $150 million +
- Gene Technology background with expertise in Synthesis and Sequencing
- Must have experience in the Clinical Market, with an understanding of the needs and requirements of customers in this sector
- Strong customer-centric mindset, with a focus on delivering the highest level of service and support
- Operations leader with experience managing a large team, including hiring, training, and development
- Comfortable working in a matrix environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and sites
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement strategies to drive growth and increase profitability
- Results-oriented with a track record of achieving targets and goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards in the Life Science industry
