Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CRISPR Scientist based in San Diego, California with a strong background in assay development to join our innovative and dynamic team at a biotechnology company focused on advancing precision medicine. As a Senior CRISPR Scientist, you will work in close collaboration with other scientists to design and develop assays to support our mission of improving human health.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop CRISPR-based assays for the detection and analysis of nucleic acids and proteins.
- Optimize assay performance for sensitivity, specificity, and robustness.
- Develop and implement quality control measures for assay validation and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to the design and execution of experiments to evaluate assay performance.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Stay up to date on the latest scientific and technological developments in CRISPR assay development and apply them to our research programs.
- Supervise and mentor junior scientists in assay development techniques and laboratory best practices.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field with at least 5 years of post-graduate experience in CRISPR assay development
- Strong knowledge of CRISPR-based technologies and assay development principles
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with high-throughput screening and analysis platforms
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, develop, and optimize assays for the detection of nucleic acids and proteins.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
