Upstream Manufacturing Scientist – Full-Time Night Shift (10:30 PM to 6:00 AM)
Location: New Jersey
Global Life Science Hub supports recruiting an experienced Upstream Manufacturing Scientist to join a dynamic team in New Jersey. This role involves working in a cGMP environment, focusing on mammalian cell culture processes and the production of recombinant proteins for biosimilars. The position requires bioreactor operations, cell biology, and technical documentation expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute mammalian cell culture and bioreactor operations across scales (50L to 1000L).
- Collaborate with manufacturing associates and engineers to meet production timelines for engineering and clinical batches.
- Improve manufacturing techniques and establish operating equipment specifications.
- Collect and evaluate operational data, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Adhere to GMP protocols and environmental health and safety policies.
- Review and manage batch records and associated documentation.
- Investigate and resolve issues arising during batch execution.
- Perform additional tasks aligned with operational requirements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, biological, or biochemical sciences.
- Experience: At least 3 years in the biopharmaceutical industry, focusing on upstream manufacturing in a cGMP environment.
- Expertise in process development, batch execution, and single-use consumables (e.g., bags, tube sets, and columns).
- Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing documentation and cleaning verification/validation.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
